The mountain in the sea
The French island of Corsica is located in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea to the west of Italy and is known as the Island of Beauty (Ile de Beauté) for good reason.
It's also known as "the mountain in the sea", which you quickly get an idea of why when you see the dramatic vertical cliff walls that thunder straight down into the sea.
But the lush and varied landscape is also unique to Corsica. For an island only the size of Zealand, the island boasts a uniquely complex natural environment. Here you can discover alpine mountains over 2500 m, white sandy beaches in the north, vineyards in the east, vertical limestone cliffs in the south and not least the west coast which is indescribably beautiful.
Fishing huts by the sea or luxury hotel in the city
Imagine hiking 2-3 hours down to a gorgeous little bay, eating a delicious local dinner, before going to bed in specially decorated little fishing huts. In a bay inaccessible to cars, you can often have this little gem to yourself and start the next day with a swim before being picked up by boat. This is just one of the many ways to experience and stay in the heart of Corsica's stunning countryside.
You can also check in to more orderly conditions, as there are nice hotels, many of them with good meeting facilities. If you prefer a more intimate and local atmosphere, we also know of small, cosy village hotels that ooze charm.
